THE HANDSTAND COURSE

THE COMPLETE GUIDE TO PRACTICING HANDSTANDS HEALTHY FOR A LIFETIME

WHY HANDSTANDS?

Balancing in a handstand away from a wall is one of the coolest feelings you can get out of your yoga practice, and holding the pose is a beautiful external display of inner virility and strength.

Unfortunately most teachers don't educate students on how to properly get into a handstand.

Handstands can be very harmful on your shoulders, wrists and neck if you don't know what you are doing.

Practicing specific movements and engaging certain muscle groups is imparative to strengthen your body for this inversion.

Getting into a proper handstand is a process but it doesn't have to be hard!

I've created this series to teach you the proper form, so your handstands look graceful, come with ease, but most importantly, keep you practicing yoga healthy for a lifetime.

NOW IS YOUR TIME!

INTRODUCING: THE HANDSTAND COURSE

This program is a step-by-step alignment based course to help you get upside down with ease.

Join today and start seeing more results in your yoga practice with handstands.

VIDEO 1: THE WARM UP

This video takes you through a strong warmup, targeting all the muscles necessary to attempt handstand. Whenever you want to try an advanced pose in yoga, like a handstand, there are certain “component parts” in your body that need to be educated, so your body is more willing to assume the pose with as much ease as possible.

VIDEO 2: WORK HARD PLAY LATER

Now that the body is properly warmed up, you're ready to learn some specific exercises that train the muscles and educate the body to create the neurological pathways necessary to be able to balance in a handstand. By practicing the exercises in this video regularly you'll develeop the upper body strength and coordination necessary to be able to move into a handstand with confidence and ease.

VIDEO 3: HANDSTAND SMART

This is the video where we put it all together. I share a few more muscle group targeting exercises and the smartest techniques to teach you to feel comfortable in a handstand. Plus some strategic secrets I’ve learned in my 15 years of regular daily practice.

After graduating San Diego State University, Tim Senesi began working on his Masters Degree in Medical Anthropology while starting his training within the Iyengar Method. Over the past ten years he has had the opportunity to study with some of the world’s most influential Iyengar Yoga teachers including Anna Delury, Manouso Manos, Megan Bello, and Paul Cabanis.

Over the years, many students that unfortunately had been injured in a Vinyasa Yoga class began taking his classes. Most of the injuries were a direct result of moving in and out of poses too quickly, not properly educating movements or muscles, or simply not understand the importance of alignment. Immediately Tim saw that he had a unique opportunity to create something fresh, by taking his ideas from the Iyengar foundation and blending his own style of Vinyasa Flow.

In 2015, Tim became part of the Yoga Journal Conference teaching staff where he was asked to share his safe, educated and strong Vinyasa Flow classes. Aside from teaching full time for YogaWorks in Orange County, he also creates a weekly yoga class on YouTube which has an active community of over 80k students worldwide.

WHAT STUDENTS ARE SAYING

“If it weren’t for Tim’s guidance as a teacher— from what books to read to clear cues and precise instruction— I wouldn’t have discovered the real rewards of a consistent yoga practice. Given the injuries that I treat as a chiroporator, I appreciate how Tim creates fun and challenging sequences that respects alignment, thereby minimizing the all too-common risk of repetitive stress.”

— DR. MONACO

“I approached Tim about a few issues that I was having with my lower back. Tim immediately gave me several poses to help loosen the muscles in and around the problem area and key core exercises which allowed me to strengthen my core and alleviate the strain on my low back.”

— MATT STEWART

"I started doing Tim's yoga videos due to running injuries. His deep knowledge of body mechanics, detailed attention to alignment and intelligent approach, kept me motivated to practice. Tim’s videos have helped me be more in tune with my body; I have seen improvements with my posture and alignment. I enjoy his videos and apply the knowledge to all my other exercise activities and every day movement."
